Village at Berkley Condos in Mantua Township, Gloucester County, NJ
Village at Berkley in Mantua is one of the most desirable condo and townhouse communities to live in Gloucester County, NJ. There are several different options available, as there were four different phases built throughout the entire community. If you’re looking for a flat unit, a bi-level townhouse or even a 3-story townhouse, Village at Berkley has it all!
You can access Berkley road from Route 45 in Mantua Township by the post office, Fulton Bank and the Walgreens. Make a quick left turn onto Castle Drive, and you’re in Village at Berkley. Tristram Circle is the most popular address in the community, as it has multiple two story buildings of one- and two-bedroom condos. Be careful on Tristram Circle… it’s a MAZE! It’s difficult to track down the desired building number. So good luck if you’re expecting visitors! Getting lost is very easy and the parking lot is pretty congested. And when you park, make sure you’re in your own spot!
But once you’re inside, the condos on Tristram Circle are pretty nice. You can choose from a one bedroom/one bath, or two bedroom/two bath. The first floor units may come with a nice large fenced in patio. They also have a den which could be used as a bedroom if necessary. I would think it to be a little tight to have more than two people living in a one bedroom, especially with only one bathroom. The second floor units are great because they have high ceilings and a loft (accessed by a spiral staircase), which could definitely by used as a second bedroom, office, playroom, etc. Association Fees are about $82.00 – $100.00 for these flat units.
There are some townhouses on Tristram Circle, and they are very nice. I recently saw a 3 bedroom, 3 FULL BATH and one half bath (wow that’s a lot of toilets to clean…) and I loved it. It had a basement which is great for an extra family room. The unit was also three stories, with a huge master suite. High ceilings, full bathroom with jacuzzi tub, and access to a small deck. The 3rd bedroom on the 3rd floor is fabulous, with its own full bathroom and high ceilings. There was also a large deck off of the dining room. Very impressive, actually.
I also got to check out the 3-story townhouses that come with a garage. It was a 2 bedroom/2.5 bath. The garage is very tiny (can’t imagine fitting a normal sized car in there… maybe a Mini Cooper or Fiat but nothing any bigger) and leads into a large finished basement with a walkout to the backyard. There is also a huge deck off of the dining room. Each bedroom is large and has its own full bathroom. Laundry is also on the second floor which, in my opinion, is a huge bonus.
The townhouses on Balin Court and Pellinore Court are very similar to those on Pendragon except without the long front steps or garage. The one I looked at had no basement, so it wasn’t anything special. But you can find a unit with a basement. It all depends on the slope of the land. Two- and three- bedroom options are available. Two bedroom townhouses are usually a better way to go, because the bedrooms are comparable in size. When there are three bedrooms, the two smaller bedrooms are usually pretty small.
Sangreal Court, Galahad Court, Accolon Court, and Quest Court make up a beautiful section of Village at Berkley. The latest phase to be built, they are comprised of alternating brick and vinyl facade. There is no garage but on there is a nice basement/family room. There is also a huge wooden deck off the kitchen. End units will have an extra half-bathroom and a fireplace. I thought that these townhouses were absolutely lovely and definitely my favorite section of the community! These buildings are more spread out than the other sections, so it doesn’t seem so congested. It’s a brighter more open space in these courts.t are very similar to those on Pendragon except without the long front steps or garage. So as you can tell, you have a variety of options to choose from in the Village at Berkley. Whether you’re looking for a small condo, or a large townhouse, you shouldn’t be disappointed with your choices! This community is part of Mantua and the Clearview School District.
